Requirements to discharge income taxes

In order to be able to gain relief from income taxes that are owed, the party filing bankruptcy must meet both of the following requirements:

• The income tax debt must be greater than three years old
• The tax must have been assessed (filed) for a period of more then two years

We contact and negotiate with the IRS on our client's behalf to get the property liens removed. This can give the client an opportunity to refinance their home and have a more affordable mortgage.
